CHIEF RICHARD HERRON
Officer Herron was hired in January 2007 as a part time officer and was promoted to full time in January 2008. Rick came to the Sharon Hill Police Department with a wealth of experience. He has worked in law enforcement since 1996 and was previously employed by the Folcroft Police Department, Ridley Township Police Department and as a narcotics agent for the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General. Officer Herron is a graduate of Ridley High School and obtained an associate degree from Delaware County Community College in Criminal Justice. Rick was promoted to Detective in November 2008 and to the position of Deputy Chief in June 2015.
SGT. GEORGE FAULKNER
Sgt. Faulkner was hired as a part time patrolman in October 1988 and was promoted to full time in January 1995. On November 20, 2008, Sgt. Faulkner was promoted to the rank of sergeant. George has training is accident investigations, Acutrak speed timing devices. Sgt. Faulkner is the current president of the Sharon Hill Fire Company.
DETECTIVE VINCENT PORT
Officer Vincent Port attended Monsignor Bobber high school and graduated in 2006. Following high school Officer Port continued his education at Widener University and Delaware County Community College. In December 2007 Officer Port graduated from the Delaware County Police Academy and was hired part time in Sharon Hill in February 2008. In March 2010 Officer Port was hired by the Philadelphia Police Department where he served in the 22nd district. In July 2015 Officer Port was hired back by the Sharon Hill Police Department and in September 2015 was promoted to the rank of detective.
OFFICER MICHAEL A. ATTIX
Officer Attix has lived in Sharon Hill since 1977. He graduated from Holy Spirit School and Monsignor Bonner High School. He has been a member of the Sharon Hill Fire Company since 1986 and is currently assistant fire chief. Michael has an associate degree in criminal justice from the Delaware County Community College. He is a member of D.C.R.T. (Delaware County Response Team) and MIRT (Major Incident Response Team). He was hired part time by the Sharon Hill Police Department in May 1991 and became a full time officer in February 1999. Michael is currently the State Constable for the Sharon Hill Borough and a senior patrol officer for the Sharon Hill Police Department.
OFFICER BRIAN DEVANEY
Officer Devaney attended Penn State University where he received a bachelor’s degree in crime, law and justice. After graduating from Penn State University in 2002, Brian attended the Delaware County Community College Municipal Police Academy. He has his Master’s degree in criminal justice from Wilmington University. Brian has been working for the Sharon Hill Police Department since March 2003 and became a full time patrolman for the borough in August 2005. Brian is currently serving as the department’s juvenile officer and has been the school resource officer at Academy Park High School since 2013.
OFFICER ANTHONY W. BUCKLAND
Officer Buckland has been an officer for the Sharon Hill Police Department since 1994 and is also the department’s firearms instructor. Tony’s past experience includes eight years as a military police officer with the United States Air Force. He was also the sergeant in charge of the Southeast Delco School Police Department for ten years.
OFFICER STEPHEN J. MUMMO
Officer Mummo joined the Sharon Hill Police Department in 1988 as a part time officer. He holds an associate degree in criminal justice. Stephen has work experience in loss prevention. He recently worked as a training officer at the Delaware County 911 Center, until being promoted to full time as a police officer with Sharon Hill in November 2008.
OFFICER JOHN J. SCANLAN, III
Officer Scanlan graduated from Lycoming College with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. For seven years, John was employed with Delaware County Juvenile Court as a juvenile probation officer. He graduated from the Delaware County Municipal Academy and was hired as a part time officer by the Borough of Sharon Hill Police Department in February 2008. Officer Scanlan was promoted to full time office in November 2008.
OFFICER CHRISTOPHER HUGANIR
Officer Huganir was hired as a part time officer in April 2006. He was promoted to full time in December 2008. He previously worked for the Chester County Sheriff’s Office. Chris attended Delaware County Community College and graduated from the Police Academy in December 2003. Officer Huganir is also a handgun, shotgun rifle instructor.
OFFICER HAKEEM LEE
Officer Lee attended Pensacola Christian College for two years majoring in Criminal Justice. Lee attended the Delaware County Community College Municipal Police Academy and graduated in December 2011. He accepted the position of part-time patrolman in April 2012.
OFFICER JOHN MUNDELL
Officer John Mundell attended Pitman high school and graduated in 2007. Following high school John attended EMT school when he was hired as an EMT for Mercy Fitzgerald hospital in 2008. John graduated from Delaware County Police academy in June 2013 and was hired by Sharon Hill as a part time police officer in 2014. John is also a member of the Sharon Hill and Darby Borough fire companies.
OFFICER KIRSTYN COALE
Officer Kirstyn Coale attended Chi Chester High School and graduated in 2008. Officer Coale continued her education at Neumann University, studying Criminal Justice where she is still enrolled. Kirstyn attended the Police Academy from July 2013 – December 2013 and graduated December 18, 2013. Kirstyn was awarded the Patricia Holsten Award. Kirstyn Devon joined the Sharon Hill Police Department as a part-time patrolman in July of 2015.
OFFICER DEVON SMITH
Officer Devon Smith was born in Jamaica and moved to the Upper Darby area in 2002. Devon attended John Bartram High School and graduated in 2006. Following high school Devon attended the Delaware County Municipal Police Academy from January 2015 to June 2015. Devon is continuing his education at Delaware County Community College pursuing an associate’s degree in Applied Science. Devon joined the Sharon Hill Police Department as a part-time patrolman in July of 2015.
