The Borough Council of the Borough of Sharon Hill will consider adoption of its 2019 Budget and Budget Ordinance at the regular monthly council meeting on Thursday December 13, 2018 at 7:00pm in Council meeting room located at 250 Sharon Ave. Sharon Hill, PA 19079. A copy of the approved proposed budget is now available for inspection at the Borough office; as well as a copy of the related proposed budget Ordinance number 1400 as shown below:
Borough Council pursuant to the authority vested in the Pennsylvania Borough Code and the Local Tax Enabling Act will enact the following Ordinance setting the tax millage rate and fees for the Borough of Sharon Hill for 2019.
That a tax and the same is hereby levied on all occupations within the said municipality subject to the fiscal year 2019 as follows:
For General purposes the sum of 7.96 mills on each assessed valuation or the sum of .796 cents on each hundred dollars of assessed valuation.
The penalty percentages on Real Estate taxes shall be set at the rate of 10%. The penalty percentage on sewer rentals and refuse disposal fees shall be set at the rate of 15%.
The Sewer Rental rates shall be set at the rate of $35.00 per unit for single family dwellings; $ 45.00 per unit for multiple family dwellings; and, $ 75.00 per unit for business/ commercial/ industrial users. In addition to the fixed rate all users shall pay $4.90 per 1,000 gallons of water usage.
The Real Estate Transfer Tax and other taxes and fees currently levied but not specifically altered or authorized herein shall remain in effect at the same rates and amounts.
A Refuse Disposal and Collection fee or tax of $175.00 per unit shall be set for all residential units, excepting major apartment complexes, commercial and industrial properties.
A Local Service Tax on individuals for the privilege of engaging in an occupation, in the amount of $52.00 per individual.
That any Ordinance, or part of Ordinance conflicting with this Ordinance be and the same is hereby repealed in so far as the same effects this ordinance.
Council may amend or change the above stated rates at the adoption of the 2019 Budget Ordinance. The public is invited to participate.
