Amtrak infrastructure work in the area south of Philadelphia, inlcluding in Sharon Hill, scheduled to take place from March 30, 2026 through October 19, 2026.
This effort will require continuous track outages between Philadelphia and the Baldwin Interlocking, impacting portions of South Philadelphia and Delaware County.
Key details include:
- The outages will be continuous, with the majority of work occurring overnight.
- Residents should expect nighttime noise and lighting, as Amtrak crews will be on site from approximately 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM.
- Crews will park in nearby neighborhoods and walk to their designated work locations.
- Work will begin in Philadelphia and progress south over the course of the project.
- A map of the impacted areas is attached for your reference.
- We will instruct all crews to minimize idling, maintain safe pedestrian pathways, and utilize directional lighting whenever feasible.
Amtrak will coordinate with local police and fire departments as needed and will respond promptly to any nighttime concerns raised by residents.
