Residents are urged to take precautions as dangerously hot weather is expected across the region on Friday, July 3, and Saturday, July 4, 2026.
The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Heat Warning through Saturday evening, with heat index values expected to range between 100°F and 110°F. Air temperatures are forecast to reach approximately 102°F on Friday and 97°F on Saturday, with humidity making conditions feel even hotter.
These temperatures can create serious health risks, particularly for older adults, young children, individuals with chronic medical conditions, outdoor workers, and those without access to air conditioning.

Heat Safety Tips
To protect yourself and your family during this period of extreme heat:
- Drink plenty of water throughout the day, even if you do not feel thirsty.
- Limit outdoor activities during the hottest part of the afternoon.
