The Sharon Hill Public Library invites residents to participate in a community conversation titled “Artificial Intelligence: Embrace or Fear It?” on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the library, located at 246 Sharon Avenue.
Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly changing how people work, learn, create, and communicate. From everyday tasks like writing emails and creating grocery lists to applications in education, medicine, and the workplace, AI is becoming an increasingly important part of daily life. This discussion will explore both the benefits and potential risks of AI, including its impact on individuals and communities, and who should be responsible for establishing boundaries.
The event is part of Bridging Blocks, a series of neighborhood discussions organized by WHYY News Community & Engagement in partnership with the Free Library of Philadelphia and PECO, with support from the Sutherland Family. Designed to bring together residents from diverse backgrounds, the program encourages open dialogue and mutual understanding. Rather than a traditional lecture, participants will engage directly with one another in a facilitated, moderated conversation.
The event is free, but registration is requested. Residents interested in participating can register online at whyy.org/bridging-blocks.
