The purpose of the Sharon Hill Citizens Police Advisory Board to bring together the community and police personnel to exchange ideas and information on police services and to provide input on the implementation of community policing.

To qualify for the citizens advisory board individuals should demonstrate a strong interest in relevant community issues, a willingness to dedicate time, and possess relevant experience or expertise related to the focus, community policing, while also representing a diverse range of perspectives within the community. Most importantly they should be willing to contribute their knowledge and insights to inform decision making without expecting direct control over actions.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Community Involvement:
A demonstrated commitment to actively participating in community affairs and understanding the concerns of the resident - Relevant Experience:
Knowledge or experience related to the Boards focus area, public safety - Strong communication skills
Ability to effectively express ideas, listen to diverse view points and facilitate productive discussionsCritical thinking
Capacity to analyze information , identify key issues and provide thoughtful recommendations - Collaboration Skills:
Willingness to work effectively as part of a team and build consensus among diverse perspectives - Diversity of Perspective
Representing a variety of backgrounds, demographics and viewpoints within the community
